Inoklaway cagers bag title
THE Julius Ambrad-led Inoklaway tripped Sheen-Zhen, 97-91, last Wednesday night to capture the championship of the 1st Poblacion Pardo Basketball Club (PPBC)-2012 basketball tournament at the Pardo Sports Complex.
Inoklaway was ahead by 10 points, 20-10 in the opening period behind Galen Gabiana and Jun Abapo, but saw this advantage dwindle down to just four, 40-36 as Sheen-Zhen outscored the latter, 26-20 in the second quarter.
The two protagonists engaged in an air-tight battle resulting in a 62-all deadlock at the end of the 3rd quarter. But Inoklaway unloaded a, 35-29 bomb in the fourth with Julius Ambad accounting for 10 points of that total for his team’s six-point victory.
Galen Gabiana and Jun Abapo led Inoklaway with 20 and 16 points, respectively while Lucky Lagasca and Bets Badayos paced the losing Sheen-Zhen with a game-high 29 and 14 markers, respectively.
