USJ-R begins title retention bid in Cesafi badminton

THE University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) and the University of Cebu (UC) start their title defense as the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. badminton tournament starts at the Metrosports Center badminton courts today.

UC topped the secondary boys category A and B and the doubles girls category while USJ-R dominated the tertiary division with three titles in the men’s doubles and the men’s A and B categories last year.

Challenging the defending champions will be teams from the Southwestern University, Cebu Institute of Technology-University and University of San Carlos.

The University of the Visayas will also field in teams in the competition along with the Cebu Doctors’ University. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
