The domestic help of the young mother whose baby was snatched inside a Quezon City hospital took a lie detector test on Friday, according to Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Chief Supt. Mario de la Vega.
Although she has not yet been considered a suspect, the helper was brought to the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame for the test, he added.
She was reportedly with Ces de los Santos, the mother of the four-day-old baby boy, when the alleged abduction took place around 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
On Friday morning, the helper gave her official statement to investigators of the QCPD’s Women and Children’s Desk (WCCD), after which she was escorted to Camp Crame.
A check with the WCCD revealed that the baby’s mother had not yet filed a formal complaint three days after the abduction.
In an initial police report, De los Santos said her baby was snatched by a woman who had posed as a doctor and said the baby needed to be examined for a newborn screening test.
The Philippine National Police Anti-Kidnapping Group is conducting a parallel investigation of the incident alongside the QCPD probe.
