Narc agent, wife, kid survive Manila ambush

An antinarcotics agent of the Northern Police District who was in a car with his wife and 5-year-old daughter survived an ambush early Thursday night near Tutuban Mall in Manila.

SPO2 Carlo Pineda, his wife Analee and their young daughter sustained gunshot wounds in the attack staged by a group of armed men on Mayhaligue Street, said Supt. Ernesto Tenedero, commander of the Manila Police District’s Tondo station.

Investigators had yet to establish the motive for the attack, Tenedero said. Nancy C. Carvajal
