Calub said they   chose not  to bring Obiso to the hospital since his condition improved and bringing him to a hospital would  need a court order.

Obiso was later found unconscious in his cell and was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center where he was declared dead by the attending doctor.

Obiso was jailed in 2007 for cases of murder, attempted and frustrated murder and illegal possession of firearms. His  relatives signed a waiver to  forgo an autopsy but the warden said he would  convince them to have the body autopsied to determine the cause of death./CORRESPONDENT CHITO O. ARAGON
