Help my child live a normal life, woman appeals to readers
At 6 years old, Princess Angel Santos has yet to walk, talk, let alone cry. The girl which also looks younger than her age has an imperforate (without an opening) anus.
In February last year, doctors at Philippine Children’s Medical Center performed a colostomy (creation of an artificial anus) on Princess to make it easier for her to get rid of her waste.
“I am asking for prayers so that she will survive the second operation this August on her rectum so she can have normal bowel activity. But most of all, we will need P50,000, excluding doctor’s fees and medicines,” her mother, Maria Fe Santos, told the Inquirer.
The girl’s ordeal, however, does not end with the second operation as she needs to undergo two more.
Maria Fe said she used to work as a call center agent until her husband abandoned her and their daughter.
She appealed to Inquirer readers to help Princess live a normal life. The lack of money, however, is a big obstacle. Maria Fe said she cannot even buy her child a stroller to make it easier for them to get around.
