Boy with leukemia needs P98,000 for treatment

/ 10:25 PM August 13, 2012

Although he is undergoing treatment for leukemia, 7-year-old Ryan Jay Bonilla continues to attend his classes. “He has not given up his schooling despite his condition.

He says he doesn’t want to be left behind by his classmates,” said his mother Isabel.

Isabel, who works as a midwife in a lying-in clinic in Tondo, Manila, told the Inquirer that her son is a Grade 2 student in San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte.

Her work has taken her away from her family but she, Ryan Jay and her husband, Hipolito, are always reunited whenever father and son come to Manila for Ryan Jay’s chemotherapy sessions at Philippine Children’s Medical Center in Quezon City.

The boy needs to undergo just two more cycles for which the family will need P98,000. Those who want to help Ryan Jay can reach Isabel at 0906-2246617.  Donations can be deposited in her BPI bank account (account name Isabel Bonilla with account number 4779026359).  Santiago R. Alcantara
