MAASIN CITY, Southern Leyte — Heavy rains hit Maasin City, causing a power outage in several towns in the province at around 6 p.m. Monday.

As of 7 p.m., there were no reports of injuries or damage to properties as strong winds and heavy rains occurred for about 10 minutes.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration in its gale warning issued 5 p.m. Monday reported that strong gale wind would affect the seaboards in Central and Southern Luzon, and the Visayas area brought about by tropical storm Helen.
