HABAL DRIVER, PASSENGER SHOT

A HABAL-HABAL driver and his passenger were shot and wounded by two men on a motorcycle in barangay Calajo-an, Minglanilla town, southern Cebu.

Police said the likely target of the shooting was the passenger, Almonicar Ababa, a resident of Naga City.

Ababa was shot in the left arm and head.

The driver Marvin Villarosa, 24, of Lagtang, Talisay City was wounded in the body.

The victims were heading to Cebu City when a motorcycle with two men on board drove beside them and opened fire, said SPO1 Romeo Barde of the Minglanilla police.

Police said Ababa lost control of the motorcycle which rammed a parked taxi.

BOY DIES IN ARGAO ROAD MISHAP

A 13-YEAR-OLD boy was killed after the trisikad he rode was hit by a van in barangay Guiwanon, Argao town, southern Cebu.

Nico Mark Aliponga of barangay Simala, Sibonga was declared dead when he was brought to the Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the trisikad, 16-year-old Justine James Dolosa, had bruises and broken bones.

Walter Patindol, driver of the Mitsubishi van, surrendered to the police after the accident.

Patindol, a resident of barangay Pitogo, Consolacion town, told police that he hit the trisikad from the opposite lane when it suddenly made a U-turn around 9 p.m. last Thursday.
