Garcia to keynote management educators’ conference

THE 22nd national conference of the Council of Management Educators and Practitioners, Phils. Inc. (Comepp) will be held on July 26 and 2 at the Summit Circle, Cebu City, with Gov. Gwen Garcia as keynote speaker on the theme, “The management education landscape; challenges in shaping new breed of leaders and management.”

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) enjoined faculty members of business education from state colleges and universities, private sectors as well as practitioners to join the conference.

Topics to be discussed are “Global trends impacting management education” by Andrew Aznar from Southwestern University; “Management education and development” by Dr. Virginia P. Resurrection, CHED Region 6 Director IV; and “Management education and practice in the Philippines, trends and challenges” by lawyer Christopher Malaya of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dr. Amelia Biglete, CHED-7 Director IV.

Participants will also have the chance to update themselves on the various historical sites that make Cebu a favorite tourist destination in the Philippines.

Special recognition will be given to the team from the University of St. La Salle Bacolod for winning the 2012 national management quiz bee competition held in Manila last June 28.
