Maid accused of stealing employer’s P2M jewelry
CEBU City police are hunting for a housemaid who was accused by her employer of stealing jewelry worth at least P2 million.
The aid was identified as Maria Elena Madeja, 27, a native of Liloy, Zamboanga del Sur.
Her employer, Concepcion Quimbo Tecson of barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City, owns a pawnshop, said police.
Police said the woman applied as a house help three months ago. The woman had a laptop computer and a high-end cell phone when she applied, the employer said.
Last June 20, Madeja told her fellow housemaid that she would step out for a while to have her laptop fixed.
Madeja never returned. It was later discovered that the employer’s jewelry and other valuables were missing.
