‘Building climber’ can’t be charged
THE security guard who tried to jump off the roof of an unfinished building in Cebu City had a brief psychotic disorder, said a government doctor who examined him.
With this, police said they can’t file criminal charges against the guard who caused a commotion when he climbed a four-story building being constructed in barangay Zapatera, Cebu City last Wednesday.
The examination was conducted by Dr. Lynn Rocelle Indulus of the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
The guard will be turned over to his relatives, said Chief Insp. Bonifacio Garciano, chief of the Investigation and Detective Management Branch of Cebu City Police Office.
The guard climbed the building around 4 a.m. and stayed there for at least five hours before he was convinced to go down.
The guard said he climbed up the roof because because someone was chasing him.
