Xlibris logs first win in E-League
THE XLIBRIS Publishers ended a long drought, blasting the JP Morgan Chase and Co. Bankers, 81-61, to tally their first win in the northern division of the 2012 E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym last Sunday.
Sergs Al Go Bui led the Publishers’ breakthrough win by firing a game-high 21 points on top of seven rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Elgiel Melgar scored 12 points, while Jonathan Tangalin, Violeto Tan Jr., and Joirene Salcedo added a combined 26 points in Xlibris’ first win in five games.
Jonathan Zaragosa tallied 17 points, Joel Anthony Obungen had 13, while Cesar Daamo finished with 12 for the Bankers, who slumped to their seventh loss in eight outings.
In the southern division, the Accenture Shakrs earned a piece of the lead after trashing the Teleperformance Lions, 79-62, while SSI Pure Science nailed its fourth victory via a 101-58 bashing of the Eli Global Underdogs.
Jasper Loreto scattered 21 points, Ryan Edward Llanos wound up with 16 markers, while Ron Alan Orat had 11 points as Accenture tied the Teletech Titans at the top with identical 5-1 (win-loss) slates.
