MANILA, Philippines—Witnesses to the murder of a woman in Quezon City last month have tagged an alleged member of the Dominguez carjacking syndicate to the crime, police said Wednesday.
Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent George Regis said that two witnesses have identified Rolando Tablan a.k.a. Eduardo Fernandez as the man who shot dead Maria Teresita Teaño in broad daylight, in front of the Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual University at the corner of T. Gener Street and Kamuning Road last June 15. Police reports showed that the suspects drove off with her brand new Hyundai Accent after committing the crime.
“(The) HPG (Highway Patrol Group) provided actual pictures of members of Carnapping Groups including (the) arrested Dominguez brothers and group members who are at large or jumped bail. Talban was positively identified by two witnesses who do not know each other but had good view of the gunman,” Regis said.
The police director added that there was a warrant for Tablan’s arrest, in connection to the murder of car dealer Venson Evangelista January this year.
Regis said that they were on the lookout for Tablan, who will face charges for car theft and murder.
