WHO doctor robbed by kids
An Australian doctor of the World Health Organization (WHO) lost his wallet containing P10,000 in cash to a group of children who asked him for alms in Ermita, Manila, on Sunday afternoon. Chin Kei Lee reported the theft to members of the Manila Police District’s General Assignments Section, saying he was walking on Padre Faura with a bag of groceries when around 10 to 15 children swarmed around him and asked for money. It was only after they left him alone that he discovered that someone had picked his wallet which contained the cash, a credit card and two ATM cards.

Love angle eyed in man’s slay
Homicide investigators were looking into the possibility that jealousy triggered the killing of a supermarket driver on Sunday morning. Senior Inspector Joselito de Ocampo, Manila Police District homicide section chief, told the Inquirer that they were told that Loel Navarro, 27, a stay-in employee of High Mart Supermarket on G. Tuazon Street in Sampaloc, Manila, had a lot of women in his life. Navarro was standing in front of the supermarket when two men on a motorcycle shot him. He was declared dead on arrival by doctors at United Doctors Medical Center due to three gunshot wounds. “A love triangle is one of many possible motives that we are closely investigating,” De Ocampo said. Gambler stabbed by sore losers
A man was stabbed dead on Sunday afternoon following a dispute with two men whom he had beaten in a poker game in Quezon City. Police, however, have yet to identify the men who killed Rico Saclot, 37, a messenger. One of them was identified only as Jorge, a jeepney driver. Case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Johnny Mahilum said that Saclot was drinking with a man when the two men, whom he had beaten in a card game earlier, approached him. American hangs self in hotel
Authorities found an American national who was believed to have killed himself inside a hotel room in Makati City on Sunday evening. Makati police officer in charge Superintendent Jaime Santos identified the victim as Gary Edward Stenules, 58, said to be a US government employee who was visiting the country. His body was found by a hotel staffer who called the police. He had hanged himself using the sash of a bathrobe. “From what we have gathered at the scene, this is a suicide,” Santos said. He added that Federal Bureau of Investigation agents based at the US Embassy in Manila also conducted a parallel investigation since the incident involved an American national. Miko Morelos
Teen shot, wounded in Taguig
A teenager was wounded Monday after someone shot him as he took his sister to a jeepney terminal in Taguig City. Policemen identified the victim as Lemon Jalali, 18, a resident of Wild Cat Village in Barangay Ususan. Jalali told the police that he and his friends had accompanied his sister to a jeepney terminal near the BCDA Complex on C5 Road at around 7:30 a.m. when a man behind them shot him, hitting him in the buttocks. He was rushed by his sister and friends to Taguig Pateros District Hospital as the gunman escaped. Robbers kill security guard
The police are looking for the men who killed the security guard of a tile store on Rizal Avenue Extension, Caloocan City, on Sunday. Case investigator PO2 Jerry Garces said that Eddie Villamor, 42, died of a gunshot wound to the face. There were no signs of forced entry at SMS Floor Center Ceramic and Granite Tiles, prompting the police to speculate that the victim probably knew the robbers. Kristine Felisse Mangunay
