MRT, LRT offer free rides today

Passengers get to ride for free Tuesday on Lines 1 and 2 of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) and Metro Rail Transit (MRT). According to the Department of Transportation and Communications, the free train rides are in celebration of Independence Day.

Commuters can avail themselves of the free rides on LRT Lines 1 and 2 and MRT from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., and again from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

LRT Line 1 runs from Baclaran in Parañaque to Roosevelt, Quezon City while Line 2 plies the CM Recto, Manila to Santolan, Marikina City route. The MRT, on the other hand, runs from Taft Avenue in Pasay to North Avenue in Quezon City. Paolo G. Montecillo
