DILG chief on his rumored replacement: ‘Anytime’

MANILA, Philippines – Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jessie Robredo told Radyo Inquirer on Thursday that he was willing to leave his post “any time.”

“Wala po akong balita na ganun  ngunit ang pagpapasya po nyan ay parating nasa Pangulo (I have not received any report to that effect but the decision is still up to the  President ,”  Robredo told  Radyo Inquirer on Thursday  when asked to  comment on reports that   Senator  Panfilo Lacson was  being  eyed to replace him.

Asked if President Benigno Aquino III gave him any hint that he would  be replaced, Robredo said: “Wala hong pahiwatig at kung meron … pag sinabihan kami anytime naman (There’s no hint and if there is… if he tells us, then  anytime).”

Robredo was also unfazed that he was bypassed, for the nth time, by the powerful Commission on Appointments.

This, he said, will not deter him from performing his job.
