2 construction workers injured in fall from Quezon City condo building

MANILA, Philippines – Two construction workers were injured Thursday after falling into the basement of a condominium building that was under construction in Quezon City, a Radyo Inquirer 990AM report said.

The workers, who did not have protective gear, were removing some scaffolding on the first floor of the condominium building at the corner of Commonwealth and Tandang Sora Avenues when the accident happened.

One of the injured workers, identified as Gregory Sernal, 26, admitted they were not wearing any safety gear, the report said.

The other unidentified worker was rushed to the hospital by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority rescuers because he was unconscious, the report said.

Lourdes Dumlao, the project manager of EM Cuerpo Incorporated, said in the report that they have protective equipment available but did not know why the workers were not wearing any.

The report said that some of the construction workers were seen working without shirts and wearing only pants and slippers.
