No other details were provided by the provincial government but it advised the public to always observe minimum health protocols.
Earlier, the provincial government of Aurora recorded eight new suspected cases of mpox.
The Aurora provincial health office said the new cases were reported by its epidemiology and surveillance unit.
It said a total of 16 suspected mpox cases were reported since Jan. 1 this year. One of these was later confirmed as mpox.
While mpox is a communicable disease, it is preventable with proper hygiene and safety measures, the Aurora government said.
The World Health Organization said on its website that mpox is a viral illness caused by the monkeypox virus, a species of the genus Orthopoxvirus.
It said mpox spreads from person to person mainly through close contact with someone who has mpox, including members of a household.
