Marcos did not accept DOTr chief Dizon's courtesy resignation

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. did not accept Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon’s courtesy resignation.

Dizon confirmed this during the Committee on Appointments’ (CA) confirmation hearing on his appointment as secretary of the Department of Transportation on Tuesday.

“I did get a call from the executive secretary that the president did not accept my courtesy resignation,” he said.

This came after Sen. Joel Villanueva asked Dizon whether he had received assurance or a go-ahead from the President to attend the CA’s confirmation hearing.

Dizon submitted his courtesy resignation on May 22, following Marcos’ directive for Cabinet members to resign in a bid to recalibrate the administration following the midterm election results./mcm
