Cavite to sizzle at 46°C; ‘dangerous’ heat index in 30 areas

MANILA, Philippines — Sangley Point in Cavite province will experience a heat index of 46°C on Saturday, May 10, according to the latest bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

This heat index means it is in the “dangerous” category, which is between 42 and 51°C and may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Pagasa also expected 30 more areas to experience the “dangerous” heat index level:

Pagasa’s monitoring stations in Baguio City and La Trinidad in Benguet province were forecast to see a heat index of only 24°C and 22°C, respectively, meaning the heat would be “not hazardous.”/das
