Dangerous heat index of 44°C forecast in Dagupan City on Wed (April 9)

MANILA, Philippines — Dagupan City is forecast to experience a dangerous heat index level at 44°C on Wednesday (April 9).

This forecast comes from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa recalled that heat index in the city also peaked on Tuesday at 46°C.

Under the dangerous category, where heat index ranges from 42°C to 51°C, heat cramps and heat exhaustion are possible while continued exposure to the sun can lead to head stroke.

Fifteen other areas were placed under this category.

Meanwhile, extreme caution level of heat index is forecast in many places.

Under this category, the heat index ranges from 33°C to 41°C.
