Heat index in Catanduanes forecast to reach 44°C on Tuesday (April 8)

Dagupan City continues to experience dangerous heat index category

MANILA, Philippines —  Virac in Catanduanes is expected to have a dangerous heat index of 44°C on Tuesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

In its latest bulletin, the state weather bureau also revealed that its eight monitoring stations in various areas also forecast a dangerous heat index (42ºC to 51ºC).

The weather bureau said, “heat cramps and heat exhaustion are likely,” and “heatstroke is probable with continued exposure” under the “danger category.”
