Motorcycle rider shot dead in Naga City

NAGA CITY, Philippines—A 43-year-old father of five was shot dead near his home in Greenland Subdivision here early Monday morning, the police said.

PO3 Norman Borbe, chief of crime of scene operatives, said the victim, identified as Edilberto Castor, was driving his motorcycle at around 6:30 a.m. when he was shot three times in an apparent ambush by possibly at least two assailants.

The victim died on the spot.

Borbe said an investigation was ongoing to determine the motive behind the killing and to look into the recent activities of Castor, who reportedly did some electrical and motorcycle repairs in the neighborhood.

Borbe added that Castor’s wife had told authorities that her husband mentioned having a dispute with someone but gave no name.
