Kanlaon emits ash thrice on Monday night
MANILA, Philippines — Kanlaon Volcano on Monday night released three discrete ash emission events, said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
According to Phivolcs in an advisory, the ash emissions were recorded between between 7:05 p.m. to 07:40 p.m., 07:49 p.m. to 8:10 p.m., and 8:19 p.m. to 8:43 p.m.
“These events generated grayish plumes that rose 500 meters above the crater before drifting west as recorded by the Lower Masulog Thermal Camera in Canlaon City,” said Phivolcs.
The ash emissions occurred after Kanlaon’s earlier emission of dark ash at 11:45 a.m., which lasted for 5 hours 13 minutes and dispersed ash to the general northwest.
