MANILA, Philippines — Two individuals were injured in a residential fire in Mandaluyong City early Wednesday morning, Dec. 4.

At 2:23 a.m., a concerned citizen reported that a fire broke out in a residential area along Lion’s Road in Barangay Barangka Ilaya, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said.

Firefighter units arrived at the location at 2:33 a.m. and confirmed that the fire was at first alarm.

The situation reached the second alarm at 3:18 a.m.

BFP said the fire was under control at 4:09 a.m. and was put out at 6:23 a.m., four hours after responders were called.

Eleven trucks and one ambulance were at the scene.

The fire department logged two injuries: 17-year-old Kimberly Dublon, who suffered a small burn on her left arm; and an unnamed 21-year-old male, who experienced difficulty breathing due to smoke inhalation.
