Northern Luzon to experience rain due to shear line, northern monsoon
MANILA, Philippines — Some areas in northern Luzon are forecast to experience downpours on Wednesday due to the northern monsoon and the shear line, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
State weather specialist Rhea Torres reported that the Cordillera Administrative Region, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, and the rest of Cagayan Valley will see cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line.
(Due to the effects of the shear line, some parts of northern Luzon will experience rainy weather. Expect overcast skies with the possibility of scattered rain showers, thunderstorms, and lightning.)

Torres also noted that cloud clusters brought by the northeast monsoon will influence weather conditions in Batanes on Wednesday.
(The northeast monsoon is now only affecting the extreme northern Luzon area. Based on our latest satellite image, we have observed a line of clouds impacting the eastern portion of northern Luzon.)
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers as a result of localized thunderstorms, Pagasa stated.
(We can expect fair weather conditions except for the possibility of sudden or brief downpours caused by localized thunderstorms, which are more likely to occur in the afternoon and evening.)
No gale warning has been raised by Pagasa across the country’s seaboards on Wednesday.
However, it advised the public to exercise caution when sailing in coastal areas of Northern Luzon due to moderate to rough sea conditions.
