/ 11:23 PM May 26, 2012

In a case of mistaken identity, a drug informant was shot dead as he was buying milk for his child at a drug store in Quezon City on Friday night.

After killing Rolando Reyes, the still unidentified gunman even used the victim’s cell phone to send a text message to the former’s police contact.

“Sir, I thought you were the one riding [on] the motorcycle. You will be next. See you soon,” the gunman told PO3 Marlon Colito of the Batasan police station.

Colito told the police that the victim had gone to the police station earlier that night to borrow money to buy milk for his child. Aside from that, he also borrowed the policeman’s motorcycle.

Colito said he became worried after an hour as Reyes was taking too long to return his vehicle. It was then that he got the text message from the gunman.
