3 Chinese, 1 Filipino arrested in Parañaque drug sting

MANILA, Philippines — The Parañaque City police arrested three Chinese nationals and a Filipino in a buy-bust operation along Access Road in Barangay Don Galo at 3:45 a.m. on Thursday, November 28.

In a report, the Southern Police District (SPD) said the suspects were arrested after selling illegal drugs worth an estimated P441,000 to an undercover agent.

SPD identified the suspects as alias “Fan”, 47; alias “Jiao”, 31; alias “Qi”, 31; and alias “Roy”, a 30-year-old Filipino delivery rider.

Seized from the suspects were  two transparent plastic sachets with 62 grams of shabu (crystal meth) valued at P421,600 and eight heat-sealed plastic foil packs labeled with “foreign characters” said to contain “happy water” or a drug cocktail worth P20,000.

Police also recovered the P100,000 buy-bust money, three cellular phones, two identification cards, a passport and a sling bag.

According to the SPD report, the individuals apprehended were “informed of their constitutional rights”, but they “opted to remain silent.”

The suspects will face a formal complaint before the Parañaque City Prosecutor’s Office for violating provisions of the Dangerous Drugs Act.
