MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and most parts of the country will still experience fair weather on Sunday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Saturday.
In its 5 p.m. weather forecast, Pagasa weather specialist Ana Clauren-Jorda said that northeast monsoon, or “amihan” and the easterlies are still prevailing in the country.
She said that Batanes and Babuyan Islands will continue to experience overcast weather with moderate rain showers. Meanwhile, she noted that heavy rain showers will not be expected in other parts of Luzon.

“Here in Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon, we are not expecting widespread rain showers tomorrow so fair weather will continue tomorrow morning until noon,” Clauren-Jorda said in Filipino.
“But in the afternoon and evening, the weather will be overcast with chances of rain showers,” Clauren-Jorda added in Filipino.
Further, she said that the whole portion of Visayas will not experience widespread rain showers on Sunday.
“‘Moderate to cloudy skies will continue until tomorrow… Bring an umbrella because when afternoon and evening come, isolated rain showers due to easterlies are possible,” she stated in Filipino.
Cloudy skies and scattered rains due to easterlies will prevail over Caraga and Davao region.
“For the rest of Mindanao, fair weather conditions are expected, except for isolated rain showers in the afternoon and evening,” she noted in a mix of Filipino and English.
