MANILA, Philippines — A magnitude 4.1 earthquake struck Nueva Era town in Ilocos Norte on Saturday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) reported.
In its earthquake bulletin, Phivolcs said that the magnitude 4.1 earthquake was detected five kilometers (kms) east of Nueva Era in Ilocos Norte and occurred at 7:17 p.m.
It was tectonic in origin and had a shallow depth of focus of five kms.

Phivolcs showed that the earthquake’s strength was raised at Intensity IV in Sinait, Ilocos Sur.
The agency also noted that there are no expected damage and aftershocks.
