Metro Manila, other parts of PH to have fair weather Nov 23 – Pagasa

Metro Manila and other parts of the country will experience generally fair weather on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). MANILA, Philippines — Metro Manila and other parts of the country will experience generally fair weather on Saturday, Nov. 23, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

In a 4 a.m. weathercast, Pagasa specialist Daniel James Villamil said the capital region and the rest of the country may still see brief rain showers due to thunderstorms but mostly, good atmospheric conditions will prevail.

For Batanes and Babuyan Islands, cloudy skies and rain are expected to occur on Saturday due to the northeast monsoon, locally termed amihan, according to Villamil.

Meanwhile, weather in portions of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao was being influenced by the easterlies – or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, according to Pagasa.

“We can see in our latest satellite images these thick clouds over Northern and Eastern Mindanao as well as the eastern section of Visayas and some areas of Palawan, is a continued effect of the easterliess,” Villamil said in mixed Filipino and English.

“Expect high chances of overcast skies and and scattered rain showers, lightning, and thunder [this Saturday,” he also said.

The rest of Visayas and Mindanao, as well as Kalayaan Islands, may anticipate fair weather on Saturday, Villamil added.

He explained, “Hot and humid conditions but there is a high chance of thunderstorm activity around afternoon through evening.”

Pagas raised s gale warning over the seaboards of Batanes and Babuyan Islands, predicting that waves between 2.8 meter and 4.5 meters may occur.

No new low pressure area within and around the Philippine area of responsibility is being monitored as of the latest weather observation, Pagasa noted.
