More Luzon areas under Signal No. 3 as Kristine makes landfall

MANILA, Philippines – More areas in Luzon were placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) Signal No. 3, as severe tropical storm Kristine (international name: Trami) made landfall in Isabela early Thursday morning.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said, as of 12:30 a.m., Kristine made landfall in Divilacan town in Isabela province.

The state weather bureau’s 2 a.m. bulletin said Signal No. 3 is up in the following areas:

Meanwhile, the following areas are under TCWS No. 2:

The state weather bureau said the storm, as of 2 a.m., was moving 15 kilometers per hour northwestward with maximum sustained wind speeds of 95 km/h near the center.

Pagasa added that it expects Kristine to weaken as it crosses Northern Luzon into waters west of Ilocos Region by Thursday afternoon to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday.
