MANILA, Philippines – Some flights were canceled on Wednesday, October 23, due to Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami), according to the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

In a situational report, the CAAP listed the following flights as canceled as of 8:30 a.m.:

Philippine Airlines (PR)

Cebu Pacific (5J)

Cebgo (DG)

According to CAAP, the Tacloban Airport reported that the following flights were diverted back to Manila on Tuesday, affecting a total of 322 passengers:

CAAP also said the following flights in Naga Airport had a planned cancellation:

The Bicol International Airport (BIA) reported that all commercial flights were canceled. Likewise, Masbate Airport said its commercial flights were canceled in advance.

According to CAAP, the BIA remains operational and can accommodate air assets for relief and rescue operations, but Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines personnel could not report for duty due to impassable roads leading to the airport.

Tropical storm Kristine is set to make landfall either in Isabela or Aurora province on Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
