Benguet police burn P1.73-M worth of marijuana plants

 Benguet police discovered and destroyed marijuana plants worth P1.73 million, the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) announced Tuesday.

MANILA, Philippines – Benguet police discovered and destroyed marijuana plants worth P1.73 million, the Police Regional Office Cordillera Administrative Region (PRO CAR) announced Tuesday.

Operatives on Monday found 10,000 grams of dried marijuana stalks worth P1.2 million and 2,650 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants worth P530,000.

The Benguet Police Provincial Office reported discovering the marijuana stalks and plants across four plantation sites with a total land area of 530 square meters along a communal forest in Barangay Tacadang in Kibungan town.

Authorities documented, uprooted and burned the stalks and plants on site. Samples were turned over to the Regional Forensic Unit CAR.
