MANILA, Philippines – In a significant stride toward enhancing education in the community, Dr. Alejandro Albert Elementary School officially opened its doors on April 8, 2024.
This transformative project, spearheaded by former mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso is aimed at providing modern and accessible education for the youth of Tondo.
Inspired by his own experiences, Moreno recognized the urgent need for improved educational facilities.
The Dr. Alejandro Albert Elementary School project was launched in 2021, and has since become a symbol of hope and progress for local families.
The new school features 234 fully air-conditioned classrooms designed to foster a comfortable learning environment.
It includes a spacious gymnasium with 334 seats, 72 comfort rooms, 28 administrative offices, and 10 elevators, all aimed at supporting a thriving educational community.
Additional amenities such as a well-stocked library, a canteen, and a rooftop sports area promote both academic and physical well-being, while outdoor basketball courts and a football field provide opportunities for team sports and recreation.
One of the school’s standout features is its eighth-floor auditorium, which can accommodate 364 persons.
This versatile space will host events, performances, and gatherings, encouraging creativity and a sense of belonging among students and their families.
In a celebratory Facebook post, Moreno highlighted the significance of the new school.
“Mainit at siksikan na classroom sa Maynila? Aba, hindi na problema ‘yan!” This school represents more than just a building; it is a place where children can flourish in a supportive environment,” he said.
Beyond its academic mission, Dr. Alejandro Albert Elementary School has emerged as a vital community hub, offering workshops in financial literacy, health, and vocational training for parents.
This initiative empowers families and fosters community engagement, ensuring that education extends beyond the classroom.
