MANILA, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) intercepted last September 26 a shipment containing shabu (crystal meth) worth over P111.11 million at a Pasay City cargo warehouse.

Methamphetamine hydrochloride was found mixed in wax used in five handmade paintings shipped in a parcel weighing 16.34 kilograms, BOC said on Tuesday.

The package was intercepted at the DHL Cargo Warehouse at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Complex in Pasay City, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

The parcel was shipped from Gustavo A. Madero, Mexico City and addressed to San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan.

No arrests were made.

The BOC-Naia led the operation with the PDEA and NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group.
