P354,000 shabu seized in Rizal drug stings

LUCENA CITY – Police seized more than P354,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) from two suspected drug traffickers arrested on Monday, September 23, in Rizal province.

The Region 4A police reported Tuesday, September 24, that members of San Mateo town police drug enforcement unit nabbed “Mimi” at 9:30 p.m. after selling P500 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in Barangay (village) Dulong Bayan 2.

The suspect’s associate, “Kester” managed to the escape and elude arrest.

Mimi was found in alleged possession of six plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 47.14 grams worth P320,552 and a digital weighing scale.

In Antipolo City, police operatives collared “Jeff” in a sting operation in Barangay Cupang at around 8 p.m.

The suspect yielded two sachets of meth worth P34,000.

Police tagged Mimi as a high-value individual in the local drug trade, while Jeff was a street-level pusher.

Rizal police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.

Both suspects are under police custody and will face a charge of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.#
