Cebuano netters make Gullas Cup quarterfinals

Cebuano netters have made their marks at home soil but players from the neighboring islands are also making headway as they advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 17th Gullas Cup at the Cebu International Tennis Centre Inc. in Laray, Consolacion.

Cebuano quarterfinalists in the boys 18 are Marc Norman Enriquez, who will face Butuan’s Angelo Esguerra, and Dave Mosqueda, who will go up against Bukidnon’s Elbert Bacong.

Other quarterfinalists are Jose Francis Suazo also of Bukidnon, who will face Cagayan de Oro’s Francis Edelbert Alcantara while the remaining quarterfinals match will have two Cebuanos facing each other in Fritz Satera and Jarryd William Laurel.

In the distaff side, Cebu’s Sally Mae Siso aims for a semifinals seat when she faces Katrina Faye Uy of Ubay, Bohol.

Both players advanced to the quarterfinal round with no sweat after their foes failed to show up for their match.

Other Cebuanos who also grabbed quarterfinal tickets were Hannah Grace Espinosa, who will play against Glory Faith Bohol; Crissianne Issa Kintanar, who will go up against Dawn Albert Uy also of Ubay, Bohol; and Mary Claire Lazaga, who will face Manila’s Maria Dominique Ong.
