Pagasa also reported earlier Friday that a low-pressure area (LPA) formed off Batanes, inside the Philippine area of responsibility.
The state weather agency said the LPA is seen to develop into a tropical depression this weekend.
Once it becomes a tropical depression, it will be named Igme, as it would be the ninth tropical cyclone to disturb the country this year.
