ILOILO CITY — After seven years of political asylum in the United States, former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog returns home this Friday, Sept. 20.
In a radio interview, Mabilog described his homecoming as the “best birthday gift” ever for him and his children, Patricia and Nathan.
“I’d like to thank God. This is a big birthday gift for myself and my family, especially to my two children with Marivic — Patricia and Nathan,” Mabilog said
Mabilog turned 59, today, Sept. 20.
He arrived at Iloilo International Airport around 5:30 a.m. alongside Iloilo City Lone Representative Julienne “JamJam” Baronda and Ariel Aye Castañeda, among others.
The former mayor thanked Baronda and President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for ensuring his security and arrival in his hometown.
“If they miss me a lot, I miss them more,” Mabilog said.
The former mayor was set to visit the grave of his mother later who died when he was outside the country.
He will conduct a press conference in his home at Barangay Tap-oc, Molo, in this city.
