Tipster already receives P1-M reward for arrest of Quiboloy co-accused

The tipster who gave information that led to the arrest of one of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s co-accused already received a P1 million reward, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Wednesday.

MANILA, Philippines — The tipster who gave information that led to the arrest of one of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s co-accused already received a P1-million reward, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Wednesday.

The tipster—an anonymous caller— informed the Davao City police of the whereabouts of Paulene Canada, who was arrested inside a subdivision in Davao City last July 11, according to Interior chief Benjamin Abalos Jr.

“Yes, that P1 million [reward] was already released,” Fajardo said in an ambush interview in front of PNP custodial center.

A P10-million reward will be given to the tipsters who informed the government about the whereabouts of Quiboloy, while P1 million each will also be given for the informants that led to the arrest of Jackielyn Roy, Ingrid Canada, Cresente Canada and Sylvia Cemanes.

Fajardo said the PNP needs “to sit down to determine who is really entitled to the reward that led to the arrest.”

Quiboloy and the four other co-accused were arrested together on Sept. 8, inside a building in Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) compound in Davao City after more than two weeks of police operation.

The five arrested suspects were transported and detained to PNP detention center on the same day of their arrest.

Fajardo underscored how crucial were the informants’ tips which led to the arrest of Quiboloy and four other suspects.

“This is also the reason why the PNP really intended to stay there until such time we arrest them because aside from the instruments and devices that we used, there was really information given to us confirming that the person we are looking for was really there,” she noted.

Quiboloy and the five co-accused face child abuse cases before the Davao City court and Quezon City.

Likewise, Quiboloy has standing arrest warrants for human trafficking issued by a Pasig City court.
