P1-M bounty helped in arrest of Quiboloy’s co-accused – DILG
MANILA, Philippines — The P1 million bounty helped authorities arrest one of Kingdom of Jesus Christ leader Apollo Quiboloy’s five co-accused in Davao City, Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. said on Friday.
Paulene Canada, one of the five co-accused of Quiboloy, was presented to the public during a Philippine National Police (PNP) press conference on Friday.
Abalos said an anonymous caller last July 9 informed the Davao City police of the whereabouts of Canada.

“Bago mahuli itong si Canada may isang hindi nagpakilalang caller ang tumawag sa hotline ng Regional Investigation and Detective Management Division ng office sa Region 11 para i-report sa police na nakita niya ang isang babae na kamukha ng nasa litrato ng wanted poster na nilabas ng PNP na may reward na P1 million,” Abalos said.

(At the very least, the reward money helped.)
Canada was arrested at a subdivision in Davao City on Thursday afternoon.
Police Regional Office 11 Director Brig. Gen. Nicolas Torre III noted that the place of Canada’s arrest is only about less than two kilometers away from the regional police headquarters.
However, PNP chief Gen. Rommel Marbil noted that it’s hard to find people who are hiding, no matter their location.
“Mahirap hanapin ang tao na talagang nagtatago. They know what to do, they know what to expect pagka nandyan yung mga pulis, but sinabi ng ating minamahal na SILG (Secretary of the Interior and Local Government) na may reward. Ngayon mas marami tumutulong sa atin,” Marbil said.
(It’s hard to find a person who is bent on hiding. They know what to do, they know what to expect when there are police, but our dear SILG announced that there is a reward, so many people have been helping us.)

On Monday, Abalos announced that a P10 million reward would be given to anyone with information leading to the arrest of Quiboloy.
Aside from arrested Canada, Quiboloy’s other co-accused are Cresente Canada, Ingrid Canada, Sylvia Cemañes, and Jackielyn Roy. Each of the five subordinates of Quiboloy has a P1-million bounty on their head.
Quiboloy and his five co-accused face child abuse cases before a Davao City court.
The embattled doomsday preacher also has standing arrest warrants for human trafficking issued by a Pasig City court.
