Alice Guo arrested in Indonesia
Dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo has been arrested in Indonesia, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) confirmed on Wednesday.
In a statement, the DOJ said Guo was arrested in Tangerang City, Jakarta.
Enteng exits PAR; ‘habagat’-induced rains to persist
Severe Tropical Storm Enteng (international name: Yagi) is now outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and has slightly intensified, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Wednesday morning.
In its 5:00 a.m. update, Pagasa said Enteng was spotted some 265 kilometers west-northwest of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, with maximum sustained winds of 100 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 125 kph while slowly moving west-northwest.
Magnitude 5.3, 4.9 earthquakes strike off Jomalig, Quezon
Two earthquakes with a magnitude 5.3 and 4.9 struck the waters of Jomalig, Quezon, and were felt in parts of Luzon Wednesday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The magnitude 5.3 quake occurred at 7:16 a.m., some 43 kilometers (km) northeast of Jomalig, while the second struck at 7:55 a.m.
