NAST slams fake product endorsement using national scientist’s name

The National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) warned the public of a fake product endorsement using the name of National Scientist Emil Javier.

MANILA, Philippines — The National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST) warned the public of a fake product endorsement using the name of National Scientist Emil Javier.

In a Facebook post on Friday, NAST said: “Dr. Emil Q. Javier is NOT associated with “Super Seed Organic Fertilizer. Any claims made in the post about his endorsement of this product are FALSE.”

NAST also added that the post used Javier’s photo and name without his consent. The said fake product promotes organic fertilizer for farmers.

“Super Seed Organic Fertilizer is not just a product, but a sustainable solution that helps farmers increase productivity and protect their crops from weather challenges, while ensuring safety for health and the environment,” the fake quote of Javier said.

Javier is widely recognized for his contribution to the field of agriculture, specifically in plant breeding in rice, maize, sorghum, coconut, abaca, and tropical grasses and legumes.
