MANILA, Philippines — Eleven persons died after a fire broke out in a residential-commercial building along Yuchengco Street in Binondo, Manila Friday morning, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region (BFP-NCR).
The BFP-NCR said the first alarm was raised at 7:28 a.m. and the second at 8:14 a.m.
It was declared under control at 9:31 a.m. and extinguished at 10:03 a.m.
The establishment was a five-story building with mixed occupancies. It was reportedly partially damaged with a cost amounting to approximately P100,000.
The fire allegedly started on the ground floor.
No other information about the fatalities has been made available as of this posting.
