LUCENA CITY — Two picnickers drowned on Sunday, July 21, after big waves swept them away while they swam in the waters off Tanza town in Cavite province.
The Region 4A police reported on Monday that Danilo Barquio, 50; Henry Barquio, 55; and Jemboy Perez, 25, went for a swim after a drinking spree in a beach resort in Barangay Capipisa around 9:30 a.m.
While swimming, the three, all residents of Muntinlupa City, were swept away by strong currents and dragged to the deeper portion of the sea.

They were rescued and rushed to a hospital.
Danilo and Henry were declared dead on arrival.
Perez remained confined for further treatment.
