MANILA, Philippines — The first family was complete during the celebration of former First Lady Imelda Marcos’ 95th birthday in Malacañang on Tuesday.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. posted photos of the celebration on Facebook on Wednesday.

“Happy Birthday, Mom! We all love you dearly and are so grateful for every moment with you,” his caption read.

Senator Imee Marcos was also present in the party. First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos in April revealed that the elder Marcos had stopped attending the family’s weekly Sunday lunch.

Senator Marcos is a self-proclaimed ally of Vice President Sara Duterte. A rift seemingly started between the two Marcoses after the Duterte family attacked President Marcos continuously since early this year.

Former President Rodrigo Duterte accused President Marcos of being a drug addict, even claiming that the chief executive was on the government’s illegal drugs watchlist — which both the President and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency later denied.

On the other hand, Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte urged President Marcos to resign as he criticized the policies of the administration.

On June 19, Vice President Duterte resigned as secretary of the Department of Education without providing a reason.

Sen. Marcos, who regularly plays mediator between the Marcos and Duterte families, has maintained her stance that she supports Vice President Duterte.
