MANILA, Philippines — Parts of Eastern Visayas and Southern Mindanao will have overcast skies and rain showers, while generally fair weather is forecast in the rest of the country on Monday, according to the state weather bureau.

In its early morning forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said two weather systems — the inter-tropical convergence zone (ITCZ) and easterlies will affect the country.

(This ITCZ is almost outside the PAR (Philippine area of responsibility), and it is affecting parts of Southern Mindanao, particularly some parts of Soccsksargen; it will also bring cloudy skies with rain showers and thunderstorms to the province of Davao Occidental.)

(Meanwhile, the easterlies will still bring cloudy skies with showers to Eastern Visayas. There is also a high chance of thunderstorms in parts of the Bicol region, Aurora, and Quezon.)

Badrina likewise reported that the rest of the country will have generally fair weather with chances of thunderstorms from afternoon until evening.

Pagasa added that no low-pressure area was spotted in and around the PAR and that no gale warning is in effect over any of the country’s seaboards.
