2 motorcycle riders dead in Cavite road mishap

LUCENA CITY — Two motorcycle riders died on Sunday, June 30, in a road accident in General Mariano Alvarez town in Cavite province.
The Region 4A police said in a report on Monday, July 1, that Danlie Barbuco, 26, with Daisy Duaso, 30, as a back rider, was traversing the Congressional Road in Barangay Poblacion 1 around 3:46 p.m. when a Mitsubishi Montero driven by Jesus Prelligera bumped them.

Both riders were thrown off the vehicle and subsequently run over by the Mitsubishi Montero.

The victims suffered grave injuries and were taken to a local hospital, but both died while being treated.
Prelligera was placed under police custody and is facing criminal charges.
